This week (4th to 7th April) Association Stijena was at its first spring study tour as part of the Triple R project. We were guests of the Swedish organization Basta, at two different locations, near Stockholm (Basta Nykvarn) and in western part of the country (Basta West). Basta is a non-profit organization that through different types of jobs allows addicts to work on themselves (from carpentry and construction work to hostel for dogs and care for riding horses, and various other jobs). They are financed from their work. In the western part of the country they run a hotel, and we can attest they do very good job. It is encouraging to see people who until recently lived drugged and abandoned, and now are pleased and carefully carry out their work. They live as one family. Of course, fellowship of the project team has again been on good level and we were able to connect more and plan further steps. Practice has shown that such friendships and networks are precious, and often as an association we have the opportunity for that kind of thing. The next step in this project is a study trip to Rome (16th -20th May), where we will be hosted by an Italian organization CEIS.
